About Deirdre
Deirdre is a Certified Conscious Dying Coach, Sacred Passage Death Doula, End of Life Doula Specialist, International Doula Life Movement Trainer, Ceremonialist, Musician and Threshold Singer. She lives and works in Wisconsin’s Chippewa Valley, supporting clients both in person and virtually.

The end-of-life care journey began for Deirdre at age seventeen while working as a Nurse’s Assistant. Deirdre has experience in home, institutional, and intensive care settings. Her personal history - including the loss of a parent at age seven, surviving a life-threatening illness at fourteen, accompanying her daughter through a complex life threatening medical condition - offers her a unique and compassionate perspective, particularly when supporting children, younger families and adults who are facing critical illness and death at an age that is considered early.

Since age sixteen Deirdre has maintained a practice of deep listening to the central themes of a person’s heart and soul through sacred council, a practice she continues now into her sixties. This way of listening and mirroring has woven seamlessly into her work as a Death Doula.

Clients often describe their work with Deirdre as “life-changing”. Her work includes supporting clients in transforming death anxiety, creating personalized ceremonies and rituals to honor what has been precious and offer meaningful ways to say goodbye. Deirdre is able to empower and support family members to participate fully in the dying process with their loved one, helping transform moments of uncertainty and chaos into meaning, beauty and connection.
